Clare Lotsu is a trained professional teacher, teaching for 20 years. She has a Certificate from Tamale College of Education along with a Diploma in Basic Education and a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood, both from the University of Cape Coast.

She has been using Jolly Phonics since receiving training in 2015, and in 2016 was trained as a teacher-leader in Jolly Phonics for the Bono and Ahafo regions of Ghana.
