Andrea Coates

Andrea has taught Reception class using the Jolly Phonics scheme for many years which has enabled her to accumulate a wealth of experience. She sees Jolly Phonics as an invaluable tool, means and introduction to reading and writing in a positive and exciting way and which enhances the wonder of learning for many children. With each new cohort, Andrea has repeatedly witnessed the same enthusiasm as children participate and engage in a fun, multi-sensory approach to learning. Having previously been a Reception teacher, Head of Lower School, Governor and Director, Andrea is currently dedicated to delivering Jolly Phonics training internationally. Andrea strives to encourage teachers to become passionate in implementing the Jolly Phonics methodology in a practical and successful way within the class setting. Andrea has been delighted with the success stories from many teachers and Principles, and has had the privilege of delivering training in Nigeria, Nepal, China, Sweden and the UK.

Hannah Friedwald

Hannah Friedwald has been teaching phonics using the Jolly Phonics method in Reception for over 11 years. Through this experience Hannah has developed teaching ideas, games and interactive stimulating lessons for whole class and group work. Using Jolly Phonics, she has also been able to successfully integrate SEN children and struggling readers through fun and exciting multisensory activities, to enable easier progression which in turn promotes self-esteem. Hannah can give Jolly Phonics training to equip staff with the skills and techniques required to teach beginner readers and facilitate progression in phonics and integration of Literacy through all other areas of the curriculum. Lisa Humpheryes

Romford

Lisa Humpheryes is a passionate teacher, specialising in the Early Years. She is a highly experienced LA moderator for the EYFS and an outstanding practitioner. Lisa is also a Basic Skills Assessor and an NPQML trainer. Lisa is inspired by the structure of the Jolly Phonics programme and is fully supportive of its kinesthetic approach so that all learners are engaged and motivated. Lisa and other staff in the school where she works have modelled lessons for for the training and delivery of synthetic phonics and Jolly Grammar, to EYFS and KS1 practitioners from around the world. The school has also been involved in reviewing and trialling Jolly Learning materials. Further, Lisa has supported the development of EYFS provision and phonics development through training and mentoring in other schools. She has in depth subject knowledge and is passionate about all children becoming fluent readers and writers through the skilled delivery of high quality phonic lessons. As a Senior Deputy Headteacher, Lisa has experience of developing the teaching of synthetic phonics at her current school and in her previous settings. Lisa has also had experience of supporting synthetic phonics development in other schools, including those in difficulty. Lisa has been a guest speaker at a Jolly Learning Conference and the school where she currently works is a Jolly Phonics partner school.

Opheera McDoom

Mrs. Opheera McDoom, British, has set up three schools in Egypt and Sudan. Jolly Phonics and Grammar has been used as the primary literacy programme in all her schools.  Ms McDoom has been training in both education and media for more than two decades. She designed and taught training courses for Sudanese and U.N. journalists and press officers, advised and trained government officials in Libya, Sudan and South Sudan and has undertaken training consultancies for the United Nations and World Bank.  As a former journalist and head of the Reuters office in Khartoum, Mrs. McDoom won awards including the United Nations Elizabeth Neuffer Memorial Award, Reuters journalist of the year, and has been the Reuters nominee for the prestigious OPC award, the IWMF’s Courage in Journalism award and the Prix Bayeux. Mrs. McDoom is proud to be a Jolly Phonics Trainer. She runs teacher training as well as Jolly Phonics courses and all her amazing teaching staff have had full Jolly Phonics training by her.

Ritu Bawa

Ritu is based in NCR region and also trains internationally. She has been successfully developing children’s reading, writing and literacy skills in her own centre “Rock n Roll with Phonics’ since 2012 and offering consultancy and mentoring services to a number of schools and institutes. Ritu has been working as a pre-school teacher and a trainer for the past 10 years, in a prestigious chain of pre-schools across India. Additionally, Ritu has been training teachers since 2009 in areas of Synthetic Phonics, developing literacy skills and English as a Second Language. Ritu also embraces the diversity of teaching children with Special Educational Needs and designing an individual educational programme to suit and progress the child. Her ‘hands on‘ approach and dynamic delivery with children means that they are engaged and progressing with the Jolly Phonics multisensory method. Furthermore, she has trained government and private school teachers, adult groups who aspire to learn and develop spoken and written English skills. Ritu is also a Neuro Linguistic Practitioner. She has worked with SSA in Meghalaya, where she has trained teachers from 500 different schools. She has also trained various teachers and children from renowned schools across India, in rural and urban areas. Ritu has successfully completed the prestigious Cambridge certified, **CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages*)*** course. She has also Trained teachers from under privileged schools in Bangalore whilst doing her **CIDTT (Cambridge International Diploma For Teachers and Trainers Certificate with a distinction in Design of Program*)**.* She continues to develop her knowledge and training experiences by participating in global events.

Shingi Benyu

Shingi Benyu is a distributor and accredited trainer for Jolly Phonics in Zimbabwe. She holds a BA Hons in Health and Social Studies from the University of Luton in the U.K. and an advanced diploma in Special Needs from Stone Bridge College in the U.K. Shingi ran a school in Harare in Zimbabwe for a number of years. She currently teaches Jolly Phonics at various private schools and has been using and teaching with Jolly Phonics for over three years. Her passion lies in an increased literacy rate for all children. With this passion and drive, she has seen children improve their literacy levels and gain confidence in their academic performance. Shingi mentors and closely works with a team of marketers and has trained teachers and parents in over 100 private schools in Zimbabwe. She is spending some time in the U.K. and is ready to train you!

Yvonne Dalorto

Yvonne is a former Head Teacher and Phonics Coordinator at a British School in Jerez, Spain (South). Yvonne qualified as a teacher in the UK, where she first started using Jolly Phonics in 1998 as part of the SEN provision before it was integrated into the 'whole school' approach. She has been implementing Jolly Phonics and Grammar in bilingual schools in Spain since 2004 alongside teaching roles. Additionally she has travelled extensively providing teacher training internationally, to support curriculum alignment using Jolly Phonics and Grammar and exploring the diversity of the programme to use with different methodologies schools/educational facilities use, creative writing, reading extension activities, SEN support and using the range of resources to support the range of exams for the B1 - B2 exams and CLIL. Yvonne has also worked with charitable trusts/organisations providing training and advice for projects as well as government incentives such as the Bilingual Project in Spain, BEDA, Junta de Andalucia, the Official School of Languages (Spain) and outreach projects in India and Asia. Both training online and 'face to face' options are available, with workshops or training sessions curated to meet the needs of the teachers/educational facilities.
