Winnie is an experienced and qualified teacher of English as a foreign language. She has used Jolly Phonics with very young Asian learners and seen excellent results – their literacy develops at a steady pace and they keep returning for more as their confidence grows! Having worked as the Phonics Coordinator of the British Council Hong Kong, Winnie played a major role in developing and writing their popular Phonics courses. Winnie is the now the lead trainer of the course ‘Certificate in Phonics Teaching to Young Learners’, and she is happy to see the 8th cohort of this 36-hour course to start at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as well as the University of Macau in the last quarter of 2022. Emile has a Masters Degree in Educational Methodology. He played a significant role in the acceptance of Jolly Phonics pilots by the Ministry of Education in Cote d'Ivoire. Many of the regions now look forward to the wider spread of Jolly Phonics. He has also supported the introduction of Jolly Phonics to many private schools in the country. In addition to mentoring the teachers in the pilots, Emile has been teaching early primary school children who had no word of English before coming to school. They now read and write English.  They are happy to be able to speak another language and do not want to miss English classes. Jolly Phonics has helped them to read even  French. Emile has also supported the introduction of Jolly Phonics to governments in many Francophone West African countries. Anita Efstathiou first started teaching 7 year olds with Jolly Phonics when she was concerned at their spelling. Impressed at the results she then started teaching it with 5 year olds (all non-native speakers) who again did outstandingly well. Tamsin has taught using Jolly Phonics for around fifteen years. She initially used the Jolly Phonics guidance to work my way through the 7 week basic code, learning the sounds and actions alongside the children. Clare Lotsu is a trained professional teacher, teaching for 20 years. Emefa Gyamfi graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and is a Professional Teacher with over 23 years of teaching experience within the Ghana Education Service. She is currently an Assistant Director and Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) for Ghana Education Service in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of Ghana. Hong Kong

Andus established her academy in 1986, providing extra-curricular lessons to students aged 3 to 13 and covering phonics, creative writing, speech and bible lessons. In 26 years, as at 2024, her academy has served over 8000 students and conducted over 130 training workshops for parents, teachers and principals, with complementary topical seminars on parenthood, education planning and related matters. It also provides a realm for students, parents and teachers to all learn together. About one third of the training was conducted in-school through lectures, parent briefing, in-class assessment, demonstrating the methods through short enhancement courses with students of the recipient schools, lesson planning and progress reviews - in sync with the needs of each school. Angela has been teaching English as a Second Language for over 30 years, and teaching children aged 3-14 with Jolly Phonics & Grammar and Jolly Music. She believes that good teachers teach well, but better teachers motivate students to self motivate themselves to learn! By using the songs from Jolly Phonics and Jolly Music, Angela creates a fun environment for the students. By structuring the classroom so students know what is expected of them, Angela creates disciplined and motivated students. Beverly is a highly sought-after curriculum developer and literacy consultant, who supports teachers and schools in curriculum design, school-wide implementation and classroom teaching in their use of Jolly Phonics. As a teacher trainer, she travels extensively in China and Asia to deliver training sessions for pre-service and in-service teachers across the key stages, from early years to secondary, and increasingly as a speaker in university classrooms. Using Jolly Phonics, she investigated young children's reading and spelling skills for her masters research at the University of York. Gary Yung has been teaching young children English reading and writing for over 20 years. He is also involved in designing curriulum and teacher training for international kindergartens.His doctoral dissertation focused on the comparison study of English teaching materials in China and Hong Kong. He also holds an M.A. degree in Early Childhood Education from UBC, Canada; an M.S. degree in educational psychology from California State University, USA. He helped establish a number of international kindergartens in China. Back in 2000, Gary introduced Jolly Phonics to many kindergartens in Hong Kong with impressive results. Hannah Stibbe is a passionate and qualified ESL educator, originating from the UK where she gained a degree in French and Italian (University of Leicester) and a Trinity CertTESOL qualification before moving to Italy in 2006. April McBride originates from the UK, is the Director of an International Preschool in Tokyo and has lived in Japan since 2001. April specialises in teaching young learners, both native and non-native English speakers and also has years of experience supporting older children who are struggling with reading and writing. Makiko has taught Jolly Phonics at elementary schools as a guest teacher in Koganei, Tokyo since 2015. She established Takahashi English and became a teacher at Jolly English Eigo no Oto to Moji no Gakushu Labo, a tutoring school in Koganei, Tokyo in 2016. She teaches Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar to children.  The children became very confident and satisfied with their skills, decoding unknown words and sentences in English by learning the letter-sound correspondences taught in Jolly Phonics. Diana has her B.Ed and has been working in the Foundation Phase for six years. During this time she has teaching Jolly Phonics, four of which have been in Bangkok, Thailand where she was teaching expatriate children and second language learners. Diana moved to Cape Town, South Africa in 2016 and taught 5 and 6 year old girls using the Jolly Phonics methodology. She saw fantastic improvements in language learning, as well as children learning to read and write from a very young age and enjoying the process. Although Diana is now based in Kenya, she would love to share her passion for teaching Jolly Phonics with other teachers in and around Kenya and South Africa. I have an extensive background in working with children for the past 20 years, within various contexts, including Teaching and developing Educational Support Programs. I am qualified with a BA in Youth Ministry and a PGCE in Early Childhood Development and Primary Education and am passionate about closing the educational gap in the early years of reading and writing skills. She travels to the UK yearly to meet the authors and publisher of Jolly Phonics and to get updates on current research as well as the latest Materials and resources available in the market. Raquel Encinares Diones first taught Jolly Phonics in Brunei in 2005. Carmen qualified with an HDE Primary and has taught for 18 years, 9 of those in London. She has experience in teaching nursery to Grade 7. When teaching in the UK, she became a senior manager, and head of 7 subjects, as well as acting deputy head for a term. She has now returned to South Africa and is currently a Grade 0 teacher. Carmen has taught Jolly Phonics for the last 5 years and has experienced the joy of seeing the benefits of this incredible programme. Because she has seen the benefits of the programme in her classroom, seen the joy it brings children, Carmen decided now it was time to become a Jolly Phonics Professional Trainer. She has used many different phonics programmes in the classroom, none of them has been as successful as Jolly Phonics. Because it is a sensory-based, fun and interactive programme, the children love it! The speed at which they pick up the sounds (naturally) and start blending, reading and writing are incredible to watch! Diana has her B.Ed and has been working in the Foundation Phase for six years. Liz has a BEd (Honours) majoring in learning support from Stellenbosch University. She is a qualified pre-primary, foundation phase and special needs teacher, having worked in all stages of primary school in a variety of mainstream and additional support settings. She has also travelled throughout South Africa with an accreditation team so has a good sense of the overall educational needs. Liz has used Jolly Phonics successfully with a wide range of children. The results she has seen have been amazing, children engaging with the tactile cues and the musical aspect which accompany the stories.

Mashudu has been a teacher intern for five years. She has recently finished her E.Ed Degree and has worked with all foundation phase grade levels, currently a grade three teacher.  She began using the Jolly Phonics programme four years ago and she has seen excellent results since. A native from Johannesburg, South Africa; Stacey has recently immigrated to Adelaide, South Australia with her husband and three year old son. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Foundation Phase in 2012. Stacey has been teaching for over a decade in South Africa, mainly in Reception and Year 1 classes. A full time teacher, Stacey fell in love with Jolly Phonics when she saw not only the amazing results the programme offers, but also the pure enjoyment the children experience while participating in the programme. She has seen her strong learners soar to new heights and her weaker learners achieve results in their reading and writing that they would not of ordinarily been able to achieve.  Stacey became a Jolly Phonics certified trainer in 2019, because of her love for the programme. Stephanie du Plessis has her B.ed degree and has been working in the Foundation Phase for 10 years. Stephanie has joined the international team in training the Namibian country in 2024 with Jolly Grammar. She has delivered a few online courses and PLC’s for the department of Education. She has experienced the joy of seeing the benefits of the programme with her first English classroom that was filled with ten different languages, all eager to learn how to speak, read and write English. This was a great challenge for her to help this very diverse and multi-cultural grade 1 class. It was only possible with the incredible Jolly Phonics programme. Yoonji Chung is a preschool teacher in Agape Montessori Education Center since 2008. Before that she worked in Agape Language Institute 2007-2009 as a Jolly Phonics teacher. Agnes is from Kampala, Uganda. From a very young age, she wanted to become a teacher. Agnes holds a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education and has teaching experience of over 26 years. Seeing children who use English as a second language learn how to read early and improve their speech and comprehension skills is very fulfilling for her. Susan works primarily with children with Autism where she uses Jolly Phonics to secure the reading skills of both verbal and non-verbal children. Susan has previously taught, for 17 years, kindergarten and early childhood special education in the US and Canada where she used ***Jolly Phonics*** as her foundation phonics program. As part of her doctoral dissertation (Ed.D), through Aurora University, Susan researched the use of ***Jolly Phonics*** as a whole-group curriculum and its use in small group reading intervention, with remarkable results. Gomathi is currently a Special Education teacher in the Santa Clara County School district after completing her Master’s degree in Special Education. Her MA thesis project addressed California teachers’ perceptions, practices, and knowledge of phonemic awareness. She is passionate about increasing literacy rates with one classroom at a time and enthusiastic about spreading Jolly Phonics to more students and teachers. Gomathi ran a very successful phonics center in India and also designed English curriculums that integrated Jolly phonics/grammar for schools in India. She has trained and supported teachers as they implemented the Jolly phonics/grammar curriculum successfully across many grades. 

Irene Baysal, a native of Southern California and UCLA graduate, taught EFL in kindergarten and primary schools abroad for 15 years. She is currently the director of a boutique home preschool in Southern California. She uses Jolly Phonics in her classroom religiously and sees incredible results. I'm Lai Xuan (Sue Sue), from Vietnam. I have 8 years of experience teaching children aged 3-15 using CLIL and Cambridge Assessment methods, and 5 years of experience teaching Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar to children aged 4-9 and adults. I hold a TESOL certification and a Business Administration qualification. Currently, I offer Jolly Phonics, Jolly Grammar, CLIL, pre-IELTS courses, and a global system of online classes. My journey with English hasn’t been easy, especially since it's my second language and I have dyslexia. I struggled not only with English but also with Vietnamese, often feeling like I was climbing a steep hill. My understanding of words was poor, and I kept wondering why English couldn’t be taught the same way we learn Vietnamese. Sheba is a qualified Early Childhood Education Teacher Trainer who holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education (Civic Education and English).
