She sees her students working collaboratively with each other, which is great for peer-tutoring to occur. Students are able to start 'reading' and spelling within a number of weeks and the interactive elements within the programme keep students motivated and enthusiastic about their learning. She can confidently say that Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar have both transformed her as a teacher and the results that she has seen in the children cannot be described with words alone. The children's confidence in reading and writing as well their never-ending enthusiasm for learning have been key indicators to the success of the program. She believes that every child has the right to quality education, in an interactive and engaging environment, and that their days should be academically engaging and child centred. Jolly Phonics covers all those bases and so much more. She has developed a knack for introducing the Jolly Phonics programme to early years curriculums in bilingual schools in Southeast Asia and diligently moved into Jolly Phonics training and support for bilingual schoolteachers in Cambodia. She has implemented the programme in 3 schools thus far with a total of 5 campuses and she hopes to spread the revolution even further. She can now be found in Paris teaching Year 5 Jolly Grammar at a prestigious French / English bilingual school. Carla is very much still a child at heart, and she believes that this characteristic has been a significant contributing factor to her success thus far. She wholeheartedly stands behind the brand and she is proud to be part of the Jolly family.

Tamsin has taught using Jolly Phonics for around fifteen years. She initially used the Jolly Phonics guidance to work my way through the 7 week basic code, learning the sounds and actions alongside the children. At the end of the first cycle it was evident how inspirational the programme was and she has used it ever since with foundation stage and year one children, always achieving outstanding progress and results using Jolly Phonics. Her work for ten years as an AST has involved disseminating best practice in all areas. She has provided phonics training (in secondary schools too) and has spoken at Early Years conferences, courses and moderation events. Additionally, she has led presentations for parents so they can begin to understand how her schools teach their children to read and write. Tamsin strongly believe that Jolly Phonics works so successfully because she teaches it within a rich, literate, play-based environment. Children have outstanding provision to learn the key skills of phonics and apply these skills in their independent learning in a range of classroom zones,  always underpinning phonics and all early years teaching by providing a stimulating and imaginative classroom environment. She has taught using child-led and motivating topics, linking phonics to a rich literature based programme with inspiring books and open ended learning.

Adelina has been teaching English for more than 12 years since graduating from the Department of Foreign Language at Kuban State University, Russia, majoring in English and Modern Greek. Adelina works across all age groups, from preschoolers and primary school students, to secondary school students and even adults. She has been using the Jolly Phonics programme which she is really enthusiastic about, as she can see the results that her students achieve. The method fits teachers who want to build reading and writing skills fairly simply and straightforward, using a wide range of materials that make language acquisition very effective, and has resulted in a positive and rewarding experience for all involved. She has seen remarkable progress in her students, many of which possess incredibly poor reading and writing skills when the first join. Adelina's purpose is to provide teachers the techniques that make teaching reading easy and enjoyable in a variety of ways, and how to build a foundation for literacy as students grow as readers. She hopes the Jolly Phonics method will continue to help students all over the world. “The more that you read, the more things you will know. Aarti's journey began 14 years ago as a pre-primary teacher. She remembers the days when she was concerned with how to make the younger students read at an early stage. After coming across Jolly Phonics, she quickly found this to be a wonderful methodology of teaching. By using Jolly Phonics, Aarti found that her students were able to decode unfamiliar words independently. Her students were eager to read more and more words as they began to enjoy reading. This was not expected at this age! Being a multi-sensory programme, Jolly Phonics caters to the individual styles of learning which Aarti believes that engages the children in a productive way. She has found the synthetic approach of teaching with Jolly Phonics works because a strong foundation of literacy has been laid, and this can be done at a very early stage. Aarti's aim is to introduce every child to Jolly Phonics and this would not be possible without the support of parents and teachers and everyone who plays a role in the lives of young learners. Anagha, a post-graduate in science with strong research background (3 papers published in International Journal) has been teaching Jolly Phonics for over six years to teachers and children. She started teaching to perceive her vision to make a ‘Fun Filled Education for Better Tomorrow’. She has extensive exposure to guide a wide spectrum of teachers who are associated with schools from backgrounds ranging from high profile students to economically weaker sections, and all in-between. The vast experience she holds to deploy the teaching across this spectrum reflects how the strength of the methodology can be applied in various domains. Furthermore, exposure to bilingual schools has shown an excellent acceptance and deployment of the methodology with ease. Anagha is also actively associated with senior trainers to deploy adoption programs across Pan India. Anagha has trained over 500 teachers over the last three years. Working with kids is a special passion which Anagha holds and she runs special engagements with students in her vicinity. The importance and joy of learning a new language can be best known when you see children from a vernacular medium around you learn a new way to read and express their thoughts in English. Jolly Phonics methodology has proved to be a key transformation agent which has reflected this change.

                                                        Mumbai

Betty studied in both India and America achieving her BA at Bombay University and received her ECE from Palomar Community College, San Marcos and certification for Train the Trainer by American TESOL before she began to teach early years. She became the lead teacher working with 3 and 4 year olds in Virginia, USA until 2009 and returned to India. On her return to India, Betty opened her own learning centre called Precious Lil' Ones Preschool, located in Mumbai, whereby an after school programme called Phonicland was introduced; practicing the Jolly Phonics methodology. This programme greatly benefitted children 4-6 years of age, most of them non-native English speakers. These children learned to speak, read, write and spell in English by using Jolly Phonics. Because of this Betty then implemented Jolly Phonics as the curriculum in her preschool. To date, Betty has taught over 600 3 and 4 year olds with Jolly Phonics. Betty wants more children to benefit from such a successful programme. *"Jolly Phonics is a fun way to teach and a fun way to learn. When children can read, write and spell they have the power to move forward."*

Khushbu is an Early Childhood Educator and MOE Registered Instructor in Singapore. She has 14+ years of rich experience in teaching English/phonics education to teachers, parents and speech & occupational therapists across South Asia; particularly Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India. She has presented her work at an event on Teaching Phonics to children with Special Needs, which was attended by thousands of teachers and parents across the world. Currently, she is supporting various NGOs and schools in using the Jolly Phonics and Grammar programme. She is considered to be the key contributor to teaching Synthetic Phonics in various schools in Singapore and Indonesia. During her initial years in teaching, she realised that most children, irrespective of urban or rural backgrounds, had difficulty reading English, leading to milestone delays in their academics. Her quest for an effective reading program that has a simple, systematic and fun-filled approach to learning led to Jolly Phonics – a child-centered and multisensory reading and writing program for English literacy. Hence, she strongly believes that anyone, regardless of age or background, should be given the opportunity to learn to read.

The level of joy, interest and motivation shown by her students has overwhelmed her. Leila genuinely wants to introduce Jolly Phonics to other teachers and make them aware of the amazing influence that the programme can bring to their teaching. She believes that every single child deserves to benefit from the best kind of teaching. Leila has completed research into the effect of using multi-sensory based phonics on young EFL learners' English literacy and motivation. The results of this study showed that the experimental group (using Jolly Phonics) outperformed the control group (who didn't use Jolly Phonics) on both the reading and spelling tests, as well as showing a higher motivation in early English reading skills. To sum up, children learn better through play and fun, carefully-developed games, materials and activities in using the Jolly Phonics programme.

I can’t describe in words how happy and lucky I am to teach my English classes with Jolly Phonics. It is a fantastic, fun and engaging way to teach. Before Jolly Phonics I felt something was missing, but now the students have the necessary tools to read and write in English. It is truly one of the best gifts that I have been given as an educator. Over the years she has specialised in bilingualism in young learners, teaching English in nursery schools, kindergartens and primary schools. Since discovering Jolly Phonics, Hannah has taught hundreds of Italian children to read and write successfully. She set up and managed a no-profit organisation which provided Jolly Phonics courses to kindergarten and primary schools across Milan for several years. Hannah completed her PGCE (University of Cumbria) in 2021 for which she researched the role of synthetic phonics in early literacy and carried out a small- scale research project on the use of L1 in L2 classrooms. This research gave her extensive background knowledge on the topic of synthetic phonics. She is head of the English department in a primary school in Milan where she introduced Jolly Phonics and contributed to designing the school’s primary English curriculum, which combines Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar with the Cambridge Primary English as a Second Language curriculum. She also teaches adult ESL learners, specialising in diction and speaking skills and runs a speaking club that holds various English-speaking events in Milan. Hannah is keen to share her knowledge of synthetic phonics and pass her experience using the Jolly Phonics programme on to other teachers to give them a better understanding of it and how to implement it in their classrooms.

During her years of teaching she has always taught with the Jolly Phonics method in the Italian context. The results she has seen over the years have been amazing, especially considering the fact that the children she teaches are not English native speakers. The children create a good relationship with the language due to the way the programme is taught. The children are so engaged and learn to read and write in a foreign language form the age of six years old. Martina cannot wait to spread the Jolly Phonics method to you all!

She established Takahashi English and became a teacher at Jolly English Eigo no Oto to Moji no Gakushu Labo, a tutoring school in Koganei, Tokyo in 2016. She teaches Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar to children.  The children became very confident and satisfied with their skills, decoding unknown words and sentences in English by learning the letter-sound correspondences taught in Jolly Phonics. She emphasises the importance of explicitly following the Jolly Phonics methods to help children improve their reading and writing skills.  Their writings become more expressive with spelling knowledge, a deep understanding of parts of speeches, and punctuation rules. She has been accredited as a professional trainer since January 2018 and has been training in person, remotely, or on-site in Japanese or English.  The trainees experience how to make lesson plans for all the sounds so that they can utilise the skills in their classes soon after the training.  They also learn the details about teaching Jolly Grammar.

In addition to that, the Jolly Phonics programme empowers students to learn in a fun and multi-sensory way, which reaches every child. Allegra has even noticed how it helps to increase their English vocabulary. The parents have even noticed the amazing results which makes Allegra feel blessed to see this kind of progress for the kids in Lebanon. Jolly Phonics has made learning fun and fast-paced. Allegra would be more than happy to share this programme with other teachers, parents, schools and even the government.

I am qualified with a BA in Youth Ministry and a PGCE in Early Childhood Development and Primary Education and am passionate about closing the educational gap in the early years of reading and writing skills. I have worked with children in rural communities of Eswatini and South Africa and taught at International Schools in both Eswatini and Malaysia. I was first exposed to Jolly Phonics in 2020 and instantly knew that this Curriculum would be a game-changer for children learning to read and write from a young age as well as those for whom English is not their first language. I love the full-body approach that Jolly Phonics takes to engage children, making phonics fun and exciting instead of daunting. I could see from the very first few weeks how the systematic approach of letter ordering allowed children to read quickly and so in turn built their self-confidence fast. I am a firm believer that confidence-building is crucial in setting children up for success in their reading and writing journey. I believe this program is much needed around the globe and that it is highly effective in achieving the goals set out. Children need an easy, fun way to learn phonics and grammar, that allows them to succeed and build on their abilities and their confidence, setting them up for a bright future. As a Trainer, I hope to inspire a vision for how children can easily learn to read and write, and ignite a passion to make it fun and accessible for all children. I hope to empower teachers and parents to carry out this program effectively, so that it reaches as many children as possible, by breaking down the systematic approach and through modelling the key aspects of each step. Every child deserves to be successful in these foundational skills that will set them up with confidence and success for the future.

Hence, she strongly believes that anyone, regardless of age or background, should be given the opportunity to learn to read.

She is currently employed with a Non Government Organisation (Care International in PNG) where she will be facilitating Jolly Phonics Training for early child and elementary teachers in a Papua New Guinea context. Betty has spent time developing a phonetic programme for Papua New Guinea which emphasises the correct pronunciation of the letter sounds. Betty has been teaching with Jolly Phonics for the past 4 years. From the beginning, she soon witnessed children being able to read short sentences after only 6 weeks of teaching with the programme. The children continue to demonstrate high grading in English compared to other subject classes. The parents continue to be amazed to see how well their child is performing at home. Betty passionately believes the Jolly Phonics programme is well designed to cater for multi and diverse language speakers. She notices how it includes the principle of teaching from known to unknown whereby the children are exposed to multi-sensory activities. Betty would recommend Papua New Guinean teachers to use the programme as it is well designed to cater for both teachers and parents.

During her initial years in teaching, she realised that most children, irrespective of urban or rural backgrounds, had difficulty reading English, leading to milestone delays in their academics. Hence, she strongly believes that anyone, regardless of age or background, should be given the opportunity to learn to read.

She has now returned to South Africa and is currently a Grade 0 teacher. Carmen has taught Jolly Phonics for the last 5 years and has experienced the joy of seeing the benefits of this incredible programme. Because she has seen the benefits of the programme in her classroom, seen the joy it brings children, Carmen decided now it was time to become a Jolly Phonics Professional Trainer. She has used many different phonics programmes in the classroom, none of them has been as successful as Jolly Phonics. Because it is a sensory-based, fun and interactive programme, the children love it! The speed at which they pick up the sounds (naturally) and start blending, reading and writing are incredible to watch! By the end of Grade 0, all the children are reading and they are excited about their progress. Carmen is passionate about Jolly Phonics and she wants to empower other teachers to access this incredible programme.

She has seen her strong learners soar to new heights and her weaker learners achieve results in their reading and writing that they would not of ordinarily been able to achieve.  Stacey became a Jolly Phonics certified trainer in 2019, because of her love for the programme. She has trained educators in both private and public schools across South Africa and is particularly proud of her participation in the pilot training programmes throughout the Western Cape in 2019 and 2020.  Jolly Phonics breeds confident readers and writers in the youngest of children and Stacey is excited to share her passion for the programme during her training sessions. She hopes to instil this passion in other educators so that the magic of Jolly Phonics may be given to all children in South Australia!

Stephanie has joined the international team in training the Namibian country in 2024 with Jolly Grammar. She has delivered a few online courses and PLC’s for the department of Education. She has experienced the joy of seeing the benefits of the programme with her first English classroom that was filled with ten different languages, all eager to learn how to speak, read and write English. This was a great challenge for her to help this very diverse and multi-cultural grade 1 class. It was only possible with the incredible Jolly Phonics programme. Stephanie has developed and helped her school in Stellenbosch with an online Library during the Covid 19 pandemic, for children to be able to continue reading at home. Her creativity knows no bounds and her passion shines through in every aspect of teaching. Stephanie was nominated for KFM 94.5’s teacher of the year 2020 awards and can be seen on multiple platforms. You can find her on YouTube delivering WCED Reading indaba 2022 or on the Western Cape Education Department’s website named e-portal. Where Jolly Phonics development videos can be streamed. She loves teaching, training and being a mentor along with all the learning, creativity and challenges experienced in today’s classroom. Even though Stephanie is based in Cape Town she would love to share her passion and love for teaching Jolly Phonics and Grammar to the whole world. She strongly feels that Jolly Phonics is the best Synthetic approach to use in teaching the English Language. Her goal is to inspire a lifelong love for learning and reading.

He has spent the last 15 years helping design and establish effective language curriculum in schools all over Thailand, conducting well over 100 teacher training and professional development sessions in virtually every province. As a bilingual professional, Jay has led training for both Oxford and Cambridge publishing, the Thai MOE and Se-ed Publishing. However, his passion is Jolly Phonics. Jay was introduced to Jolly Phonics in the UK over 15 years ago and immediately saw its potential as a fast track to literacy. Its multi-sensory style and fast pace is the perfect medium for engaging and developing young learners. “Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think.” – Albert Einstein This is the motto of Jay's school and Jolly Phonics is the way he goes about this process. Students learn quickly, efficiently, correctly and, more importantly, with confidence and success. He has seen shy, nervous children walk in at the beginning of the year and in a very short time they are happy, knowledgeable and confident to learn anything sent their way. This is down a strong foundation in phonics. Jay is bilingual and available to teach full training in either English or Thai.

Jolly Phonics provided clarity in the very 'foggy' area of learning to read and write. The simple act of understanding that letters of the alphabet have sounds (as well as names) and blending those sounds to make words meant that children could read texts for themselves and write phonetically, that can be understood by the teacher. Jolly Phonics has given many children a sense of independence in reading and the confidence to give 'things a go'.  John is passionate about literacy and equally passionate about phonics, having spent over 27 years teaching children aged 4-15 both in New Zealand and across Asia. Phonics is only one component of a balanced literacy program, but a very important component.

Her training is simple, yet detailed, and gives teachers the skills and purpose for their teaching. Many teachers say to her, ‘For the first time in (#of years) I feel like I am actually teaching children how to read.’ The confidence in children flourishes when they can blend sounds and say the words (especially those who had difficulty learning to blend) then move on to read books! Wow! Just unbelievable! She holds a bachelor’s degree in Literatures in English and a Teacher’s Diploma. Her passion is to spread Jolly Phonics far and wide to ensure literacy for all. After your training, she is available to monitor teachers in their classrooms as she believes that monitoring is an integral part of the entire programme. Online training is also available. So passionate is her belief in Jolly Phonics, that she has remade the old Chinese Proverb: Tell a child the words and he /she reads for a day.  Teach a child the letter sounds and he /she reads for life. Learning is a life-long process that starts with a solid foundation. Let her help you achieve success and build a solid foundation with Jolly Phonics.

She is also pleased to observe children gaining self –confidence during the process. Meliha finds Jolly Phonics one of the most rewarding programmes as teachers can see the results of their work shortly after they have made the first steps. She is happy to share experience with other teachers around Bulgaria and on the Balkans.

From a very young age, she wanted to become a teacher. Agnes holds a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education and has teaching experience of over 26 years. Agnes has worked in public, private and international school settings, with a concentration in early literacy skills, and has used Jolly Phonics for the past ten years. Seeing children who use English as a second language learn how to read early and improve their speech and comprehension skills is very fulfilling for her. Agnes currently serves as a Literacy Consultant for different Primary School Boards, and teaches language skills part-time at Fram Nursery vocational school, a kindergarten teachers' training institution. Agnes would like to share her Jolly Phonics experience with fellow teachers, teacher trainers and parents within East Africa through hands-on workshops and training. This would, in return, help place a firm foundation in early literacy skills among children, thus combating the literacy problem that has remained an obstacle to many children's steady learning progress today.

Also the schools in the environment saw the great results in children, showed their interest and asked for help. I love to share my knowledge and that's how become a Jolly Phonics trainer. I'm in Uganda each year for three months.

She is really impressed with how well and quickly the children learn to read with confidence and how their love for reading and writing in English continues to improve. They enjoy reading and are proud of themselves in doing so; a pride shared by Irene as she sees amazing results. Recently, she has introduced jolly classroom to her teaching and this is having a fantastic influence on children phonics learning and progression. She wants to help teachers and parents all across Africa share in the success of the programme.

Throughout the training, I could picture which students would benefit from it and how I would use it effectively.” Shirley Dempsey.

Since the year 2009, in their role of coordinators of English at a highly prestigious bilingual school in Montevideo, Gabriela and Laura have established the implementation of Jolly Phonics as an essential component of the English Programme. Having taught English to students of different ages, learning styles and needs both of them have collected all over the years sufficient evidence to prove that the Synthetic Phonics Approach has helped to boost students’ confidence and enthusiasm at the time of dealing with the reading and writing skills in the second language. Being aware of the fact that the act of reading is the result of a combination of processes, which range from the most specific (segmentation and blending) to the most general ones (wholeness of words and phrases in context), they are fully convinced that children’s phonological awareness and phonological abilities play an essential role in learning to read.

I have 8 years of experience teaching children aged 3-15 using CLIL and Cambridge Assessment methods, and 5 years of experience teaching Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar to children aged 4-9 and adults. I hold a TESOL certification and a Business Administration qualification. Currently, I offer Jolly Phonics, Jolly Grammar, CLIL, pre-IELTS courses, and a global system of online classes. My journey with English hasn’t been easy, especially since it's my second language and I have dyslexia. I struggled not only with English but also with Vietnamese, often feeling like I was climbing a steep hill. My understanding of words was poor, and I kept wondering why English couldn’t be taught the same way we learn Vietnamese. While searching for a more effective method, I discovered Jolly Phonics, and it completely transformed my learning. I saw huge improvements in my pronunciation and spelling of new vocabulary. I began using Jolly Phonics with my students, and the results were remarkable. In Vietnam, many students still face the same challenges I did, as we often rely on outdated whole-word memorization techniques for vocabulary learning. But I believe Jolly Phonics can change that. It lays a strong foundation for reading and writing, helping students not only with English but also in becoming more independent learners.

Beyond Ourselves have been piloting Jolly Phonics for the Zambian government since the start of 2018 and have seen tremendous results in participating schools.

She has over 11 years of teaching experience and began using Jolly Phonics almost 3 years ago. She instantly saw an amazing difference in results after using Jolly Phonics. Sheba has seen children progress a number of reading levels within just six months of using the programme. Not only has she seen how it shapes children into competent readers, it also gives them the confidence to attempt to read words that they have never seen or heard before. Jolly Phonics essentially equips her students with the skills to explore the world of reading on their own. Sheba can offer training in Jolly Phonics, teaching the five basic skills of the programme. She is available to give tips on classroom management and classroom based activities that teachers can do in both small and large classes.
